Midwifery Services of Durham was the first and only midwifery clinic in the Durham Region after legislation in 1994, comprised of a small group of midwives caring for clients across the region. We were one if the first practices in Ontario to get hospital privileges after legislation, with first midwife attended birth in hospital in Canada.  Over the last 20 years, our practice has grown and now consists of 10 registered midwives. We are a diverse group of midwives comprised of, many backgrounds, languages, university faculty members, community leaders, and hospital leaders.

WE'RE A TEACHING PRACTICE
STUDENT MIDWIVES

We are a teaching practice and encourage our clients to take the opportunity to have a student midwife involved in their care.

Depending on their level, the student's role in your care may range from observation, to conducting visits independently and having hands on clinical skills during your care.

In every circumstance there will be a Registered Midwife available for mentoring.
